Mick Jagger co-founded one of the most original and long lasting bands in the history of rock and roll music. The English singer, songwriter, actor and co-founder of the Rolling Stones was born in Dartford in the County of Kent, England on July 26th 1943. Michael Phillip "Mick" Jagger was a successful student winning a scholarship to the prestigious London School of Economics. He studied there for just one year before turning to music and his songs, largely co-written with Keith Richards, are known throughout the world today. The Rolling Stones have performed and recorded record albums for the past four decades. His stage presence and style remain inimitable. He was knighted in 2003.
